This is a solid, all original
sheet metal California 383, 4 speed, and numbers matching GTS
that was shipped to Michigan in 1999. The mileage showing is
60,528 and based on the overall condition of this car is most
likely correct. The car currently is powered by a totally
rebuilt, strong running 426 Cu. In. Max Wedge motor believed to be
somewhere around 475 to 500 HP. The rebuild includes a new Edelbrock 750 cfm carburetor with electric choke, new water
pump, new high volume fuel pump, new classic car battery group
24, rebuilt starter, rebuilt alternator, and a four core
radiator. All receipts and service work orders, as well as the
original California Title are included to support this claim.
The engine also has the correct, rare special factory exhaust
manifolds and the original numbers matching block is included
with the sale. The original four speed transmission is now
hooked up to a new Centre Force clutch with throw out bearing
and a Hurst shifter. Other features include dual exhaust with
Flowmaster mufflers, manual steering, manual front disc brakes,
new 3:91 posi 8 ¾” rear end and new leaf springs. The body of
the car is in excellent condition and is painted the factory
original R1 burgundy metallic with black bumble bee stripes. The
interior is in excellent condition, all windows are factory
tinted and the car is 1 of 56 built with a limited production
grill centre piece. Overall this car is a high number two driver
with a well detailed engine compartment would do very well at
any show. Note: This car has been driven less than 800
miles since rebuild; for more information contact Brian Vickers
or Tim Hine at 416 741 6221.
